TurboTax Canada Software Review and Giveaway!

With the 2010 tax season fast upon us, many Canadians are getting ready to complete their 2010 returns.  Over the years, the majority of Canadians have taken it upon themselves to complete and file their own tax returns.  I remember going to the post office in the mid 1990's and picking up a paper tax package in an attempt to file my own return.  The forms where so long and confusing, that I eventually went to one one of the national tax preparation chains and paid them over $70 to file my return for me.  I used to get frustrated that I had to pay someone to file my returns, as all they seemed to do was just input my T-4 information and basic information into their system.  I cannot believe that I used to pay $70 for that basic service!

  For many years now, I have used TurboTax ( formerly QuickTax) to do my taxes myself.  The software is so easy to use it actually takes the pain out of doing my taxes!  The software actually guides you step by step throughout the whole process and checks your data for potential errors.   I also love the RRSP contribution optimizer and deduction review feature as it allows you to really max out your potential returns.

I would recommend Turbotax to  anyone that does their own taxes.  It is super easy for first time users to navigate and offers free support and 100% accuracy guaranteed.  I also love the Netfile feature, which allows me to upload the return directly to the government, which speeds my return up!
