Memories of Easter's Past ( Embarrassing Pic Alert)

( You can't really tell, but my face is covered in Chocolate! Fast forward 30 years and not much has changed! )
Seeing this old picture reminded me of another classic Easter! When I was about 4 years old, we spent Easter at my Aunt Iris's home in Edmonton ( Auntie Iris is my favorite Auntie in the whole world, FYI) and she used to spoil me rotten! Imagine my surprise when I woke up on Easter morning to find a real live BABY CHICK in my Easter basket....nestled in with my chocolate goodies! ( Yes....you read that correctly. A real live BABY CHICK!) Apparently, you could buy them at the pet stores in 1981 for such occasions. I did not take the Chick back with me to Calgary, so I really do not know what happened to that little birdy! ( I hear that she went on to produce many eggs for families in the Edmonton area before retiring to KFC in Millwoods.) I wish I had a picture of that Easter classic! Happy Easter Everyone!

That is so cute! I think we all had the same decor back then....shag carpet, dark brown furniture, print covered sofas.....thank goodness that stuff went out of style!

Ok, wow...your little man isn't so little anymore! They grow up so fast don't they?
So you got a real live bird in your basket, huh? You might be the only person I know that has gotten that in their basket! ;-) And btw, the thing that stands out in that picture the most is the carpet. LOL!
Love the headshots and congrats on your interview! SO very cool!
Now on to those Little People...I have the entire house, with the ringing doorbell, garage that opens, dad in a car with a suit, dog, and furniture still. In its box. Can't part with it. Are my kids playing with it? Nope. Am I? Nope. So why do I still have it? Not a clue....
Hope you are well friend. I have been a bit overwhelmed lately and my blog friends have gotten pushed to the side, but I am trying to make more time for reading blogs again. Bear with me! ;-)
